Do it yourself website updates

It's all very well telling you how easy it can be to update your website using only a browser -- we thought we'd go one better and let you try it for yourself! Normally, maintenance functions are in a password-protected section of the site so that only the site owner can access them. So to give you a taste of our site maintenance facilities, we have set up a simple site based on a collection of recipes. You can search for recipes, print them out, or email them to a friend, but you also have full administration access. So you can edit or delete existing recipes, or add new ones (please do!).

This system is obviously suited for structured data, where the format of the page is unvarying and only the content changes. We have also set up more flexible template systems for some clients. They can edit a page locally using their preferred Web editor, and then use an administration menu to upload it to the site, where it is optionally merged with database content and can be checked before it replaces the current live page. So if this system doesn't suit your needs, contact us and we can probably come up with something that will!

Note: the original recipes have been rigorously tested by Archetype's staff on numerous enjoyable occasions using the most stringent quality control procedures (French guests). So we can assure you that they are all excellent. However, bear in mind that other visitors may have edited them ... so if you'd like the definitive version of a particular recipe, check the official (non-editable) Archetype recipe database!
